Brett received his J.D., magna cum laude, Justice Frank Murphy Honor Society, from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2024.
While in law school, Brett served as Executive Online Editor on the board of the UDM Law Review. He was also a teaching assistant for Contracts I & II and a research assistant for Dean Richard Broughton, conducting research on the topics of criminal law, constitutional law, terrorism, and international drug trafficking. Brett earned CALI awards, which are awarded to the highest grade in the class, in Torts, Legal Writing, and Contracts. Prior to law school, Brett obtained his bachelor’s degree in political science from Oakland University, with a minor in Philosophy. He was born and raised in Macomb, Michigan. In his free time, Brett’s hobbies include reading, woodworking, painting, and finding new interests to turn into hobbies.
